Chardonnay
California chardonnay tends to vary by region. Napa and Carneros chardonnays have intense flavors of green apple and melon. Chardonnay produced from the vineyards of the mid-coastal regions (Monterey to Santa Barbara) tend to offer more tropical flavors and a rich spice. The Russian River Valley of Sonoma is emerging as a top producer of chardonnay and pinot noir.
